Metallica's vision for a music festival is a step beyond what music festivals have been in recent years, at least in the US. With Orion Music + More coming to Belle Isle Park in Detroit, MI in just 2 short days, from June 8th-9th, Metallica hope to grow this concept they started last year in Atlantic City, NJ.
With a wide variety of genres of music, all performing next to each other on 4 separate stages, fans are sure to get a very unique experience. From thrash metal and hardcore metal, to all varieties of punk rock, to mainstream rock and alternative, indie rock, stoner metal, and even dub-step, hip hop, and other electronic music, Orion Music + More is sure to be sensory overload. And that only covers the MUSIC side of things. There is also a full auto show, a horror memorabilia museum (Kirk's Krypt), a film festival, Skateboarding exhibition, and much much more!
In a press conference earlier, James Hetfield described his vision for this festival to be "Like just a giant family reunion, or a giant backyard barbecue..." So get out to Belle Isle, take in a ton of awesome music, hang out, have fun, and experience something new!
